Mission and Values

My work as a coach, teacher, and intuitive guide is rooted in the belief that creativity can be a force for collective liberation.

This is not a neutral space.
 I am not a neutral educator.
 That’s by design, and by devotion.

I work with artists, witches, and dreamers who want to feel deeply, express boldly, and live in alignment with their values, including justice, equity, and care for all beings. My offerings are created to support personal growth and collective awareness. I believe in building a world where all people are safe, seen, and free.

While most of my work is deeply personal and directly led by me, I’m supported by a small, intentional team who share these values and help carry this mission forward with love and integrity.

At Allison MacLaury Arts, I believe that art is political, teaching is sacred, and magic is a tool for healing and transformation, not escape.

  • To hold space for artists and seekers to show up as their full, complex, magical selves

  • To offer arts education and intuitive coaching that is affirming, accessible, and anchored in both high quality training and deep compassion

  • To integrate social justice and spiritual care, because I don’t believe in separating our politics from our practices

  • To support creative expression that is healing, rebellious, and rooted in truth

  • To name injustice when I see it and stand in solidarity with movements for liberation—including Palestinian liberation—and all efforts to dismantle systems of oppression

My Mission

  • Creativity is Sacred: Art is more than performance. It’s presence, power, and personal ritual. Whether we’re dancing, acting, or pulling cards, creativity is how we remember who we are.

  • Authenticity Over Perfection: I believe in spaces where you can show up real, raw, radiant, and enough, just as you are.

  • Teaching is a Political Act: To ask for pronouns, validate feelings, speak up about injustice, and create brave, affirming space for self expression is political. I don’t separate my values from my work.

  • Care is Revolutionary: Empathy, softness, and nervous-system-aware teaching are not optional, they’re essential. Care is how we create real change, one relationship at a time.

  • Joy is Resistance: Laughter, rest, dance parties, glitter, and delight are not distractions from the work, they are the work. Joy is a spell we cast against burnout and despair.

  • Liberation is Non-Negotiable: I stand against White Supremacy, settler colonialism, genocide, ableism, fatphobia, cisheteropatriarchy, antisemitism, Islamophobia, and all systems that seek to diminish or divide.  I stand for Queer joy, trans futures, racial justice, neurodivergent inclusion, body autonomy, and collective freedom everywhere.

My Core Values

Witchcraft isn’t just for cisgender, heterosexual women, and it never has been. But too often, modern spiritual spaces are built around that assumption, leaving trans, nonbinary, Queer, and gender-expansive folks feeling excluded or invisible. That’s not the kind of magic we practice here.

At Allison MacLaury Arts, everyone is welcome. While I often uplift and center femme voices and experiences, this space is lovingly created for witches of all genders and sexualities. You don’t need to look a certain way, identify a certain way, or fit into a particular box to belong. Your magic is real. Your identity is sacred. You are welcome here.

We may sometimes speak about masculine and feminine energies, or work with gods, goddesses, and archetypes that carry gendered associations. When we do, it’s always with the understanding that these are energetic tools, not fixed roles or binary expectations. These energies are for everyone to explore, embody, and play with in whatever way feels true for them.

This is a space for fluidity, authenticity, and full spectrum magic. Come exactly as you are.

Gender and Energetics

I believe that spiritual support, creative coaching, and arts education should be accessible, not gatekept.

While I price my offerings with sustainability in mind, I also offer sliding scale and reduced cost options whenever possible. If the cost of a session or program presents a barrier, please reach out. I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs, or refer you to a trusted colleague or resource.

We are all more powerful when everyone has access to the tools they need to thrive.

As an artist, educator, and witch, I believe it’s vital to honor the roots of the work I engage with, and to name the harm that’s been done when sacred, cultural, and ancestral practices are stolen, commodified, or watered down for aesthetic or profit.

What This Means in My Work

So much of Western performing arts training, from jazz and tap dance to musical theatre to physical comedy, owes its existence to Black, Indigenous, and immigrant communities whose contributions were often erased or exploited.

As a white artist and educator, I’m committed to acknowledging the origins of the forms I teach, continuing to learn from culture bearers, and choosing choreography, material, and methods that align with that respect.

Mystical practices are not a grab bag of aesthetics or vibes. They are deeply rooted in cultural, spiritual, and ancestral systems, many of which have been demonized or appropriated by white, Western practitioners (and yes, that includes me—we all have unlearning to do).

Let’s talk about tarot:
 Tarot as we know it today has roots in Europe, but its popularization as a divinatory tool is deeply tied to the Romani people, a community that has faced centuries of violence and displacement. While many of us use tarot for self-reflection, creativity, or spiritual growth, it’s essential to recognize that the Romani were criminalized for practicing divination, even as those same tools were later embraced by white spiritualists.

I believe we can honor and engage with these tools without pretending they are ours to reinvent. I use tarot and astrology as intuitive supports for self connection and creative exploration, not as predictions or performance. I remain committed to learning what I wasn’t taught and supporting Romani creators.


  • I do not claim lineage that is not mine

  • I do not use closed practices (such as smudging or specific deities/rituals rooted in Indigenous, Caribbean, or African traditional religions)

  • I cite my sources. I give credit. I pay culture bearers and teachers

  • I am actively unlearning the colonial patterns I’ve inherited and building something better in their place

  • I hold space for complexity, correction, and care

This work is messy, ongoing, and essential. If you ever notice something I’ve missed or want to share a perspective, I welcome the conversation.

We can’t build liberatory creative spaces without being honest about the histories that shape them.
Our work takes place across multiple locations, and we honor the lands we live and create on:

In Cambridge, Massachusetts, we acknowledge the unceded territory of the Massachusett, Wampanoag, and Pawtucket peoples.
 In Asheville, North Carolina, we honor the original stewards of this land, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, also known as the Aniyvwiya.

These lands were violently taken and continue to be occupied.
 We recognize that land acknowledgments are only a small step.
 As a business and as an individual, I commit to ongoing education, redistribution of resources, and support for Indigenous sovereignty and healing.
